Ashok Elluswamy, Tesla’s vice president of AI software and the first engineer recruited for the Autopilot team in 2014, took to X to present a significantly different interpretation of the data. \u201cIn this instance, the driver manually overridden the self-driving function by pressing the accelerator fully down to 100% in this residential area,\u201d he stated. \u201cThey attained a speed of 73 mph at the moment of the crash and continued pressing the accelerator even after the collision.\u201d<\/p>\n
