Further information is emerging about OpenAI’s enigmatic new hardware gadget — previously referred to as an AI-powered smart speaker that will serve as the “physical embodiment” of ChatGPT.

According to Bloomberg, the device will have a “donut shape,” allowing users to easily transport it around their home and position it in various spots, such as on a bedside table or kitchen counter.

It will be made from “premium metal,” feature a “high-end appearance,” and (in a somewhat puzzling aspect) will include unique “moving parts,” sources informed Bloomberg.

The cost may also be higher than that of an ordinary smart speaker, potentially ranging from $300 to $400 per unit, as indicated by this report. In comparison, most of Amazon’s smart home speakers are priced between $40 on the lower end and $240 on the upper end.
