On Monday, Meta revealed its plans to introduce the “Meta Enterprise Platform,” a fresh initiative designed to broaden the company’s AI capabilities for businesses and corporate clients. The social media leader has brought on Chirantan “CJ” Desai, the former CEO of database software powerhouse MongoDB, to oversee this new effort.
This new business endeavor builds on the success of Muse, Meta’s personal AI assistant launched earlier this month, which can assist users with tasks like sending emails and arranging travel.
Meta intends to concentrate on delivering its complete technology suite, including Muse, Meta Business Agent, Muse API, Muse Code, and more to businesses and developers.
“In the years ahead, AI will essentially transform how businesses of all sizes innovate, expand, serve clients, and manage operations,” Desai stated in a press release. “Meta has a distinct role to fulfill as it integrates advanced models and leading agents with a proven history of assisting millions of advertisers and hundreds of millions of enterprises in scaling. The Meta Enterprise Platform will aim to convert its AI capabilities into products and services that companies can utilize for their own operations.”
This strategy could enable Meta to recoup the significant investments it has made in AI.
MongoDB’s stock plummeted over 17% following the announcement of its CEO’s abrupt exit. The database firm indicated that it has named Dev Ittycheria as interim CEO, a position he previously held, while the board seeks a permanent successor for Desai.
