The Best Breville Espresso Machine Is Currently 30% Discounted (2026)

The Best Breville Espresso Machine Is Currently 30% Discounted (2026)

There are typically just two occasions each year when espresso makers or latte machines see genuine price cuts: Amazon Prime Day and Black Friday. Indeed, Prime Day promotions on coffee or espresso machines frequently represent the finest discounts of the year.

Breville, a leading kitchen appliance brand, is providing significant markdowns on its coffee machines and popular smart ovens. The Breville Barista Express is reduced by nearly $200, marking the lowest price in five years, and has been our suggested espresso machine for the majority of that time. Breville’s Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro is the toaster oven air fryer endorsed by kitchen and coffee writer Matthew Korfhage—and it’s now 20 percent off, the best rate this year.

### The Best Espresso Machine for Most

Breville’s Barista Express is a semiautomatic espresso machine, perfect for beginners in home brewing. It comes with a grinder and steaming wand for crafting milk-frothy beverages. We’ve been recommending this Breville model for almost a decade due to its worth, dependability, and user-friendliness. Now nearly $200 off on Prime Day, it’s the lowest price recorded all year. The Express produces rich-flavored espresso, especially on medium and dark roasts, and Breville’s solid warranty and outstanding customer service enhance its appeal.

Personalize your Breville Barista Express with choices like Black Truffle, Black Sesame, and Brushed Stainless Steel, which are also on sale.

### The Best Oven-Air Fryer Combo There Is

The Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro, alongside the Joule version with enhanced software, is arguably the best of its category. In compact apartments, it’s often more suitable than large ovens that warm up the entire area. This combo delivers remarkable precision, even toasting, and the capability to air-fry nuggets to crispy perfection, dehydrate fruits, and roast sweet potatoes. It’s currently available at its lowest price before the holidays at just over $300.

For those on a tighter budget or in a smaller space, the Compact Smart Oven still accommodates a 12-inch pizza and is only $124 on Prime Day.

### A Barista on Your Countertop

This is the pricier, touchscreen Barista Express, perfect for anyone seeking café-quality espresso at home with minimal effort. Its integrated touchscreen provides step-by-step guidance, pre-programmed drink choices, and automatic milk frothing—the steam wand operates by itself. It combines features like automatic water-pressure adjustment, a precision conical burr grinder with dose control, and a thermoblock heating system.

### Our Pod Espresso Pick

For an uncomplicated espresso and coffee solution (without pretentiousness), this flexible machine utilizes Nespresso Vertuo and Starbucks capsules for effective brewing. It’s an eco-friendly alternative, delivering espresso with single or double shots, along with iced or milk frothing functionalities. This compact machine enables you to prepare cold brew, iced or hot coffee, lattes, and cappuccinos year-round, at a significant discount.

Tovala Family Meals Evaluation: Delicious Selections, Elevated Sodium Content

Tovala Family Meals Evaluation: Delicious Selections, Elevated Sodium Content

A garlic-herb salmon served with risotto emerged as the top choice among the family dishes I tried. While the chopped asparagus appeared less appealing when topped with garlic butter, it was still flavorful and slightly crisp. The salmon was soft and flaky, and the sweet pea risotto was delightful due to the ample amounts of cheese, butter, and lemon, creating a rich blend of flavors.

The chicken parm was equally rich, evoking memories of family meals from my childhood during the 1980s, featuring cheese-covered chicken, garlic bread, and ricotta-stuffed shells. The main difference was the lack of vegetables, which my mother would have certainly included.

However, Toval’s meals face a nutritional challenge. For example, the chicken parm dish has 2,300 milligrams of sodium per serving, almost the entire daily limit for an adult. This sodium content is similar to comparable servings of Stouffer’s meat lasagna, but the Tovala meal also contains roughly ten times the cholesterol amount.

Other dishes similarly relied heavily on fats and salt for flavor, resembling indulgent restaurant fare rather than home-cooked meals. Whether this is a positive aspect is subjective.

Only one out of the seven meals I sampled was a total letdown: the teriyaki chicken dinner, which felt like a cultural misrepresentation of Japan. The dish featured sweet soy sauce over bland chicken, heavy egg rolls, and plain broccoli, reminiscent of ’90s mall food court “Japanese” cuisine. However, such a significant error was rare.

A larger issue with family-oriented meals is the consistently elevated levels of fat, cholesterol, and sodium. Those who have the means and desire for convenient, hearty meals—such as parents with children or seniors—might look for more nutritious alternatives with reduced fat and salt.

After a few weeks of experimenting with recipes, I was relieved to notice my arteries feeling clearer. Tovala’s culinary strategy effectively bridges the divide between prepared meals and fresh food, showcasing their culinary prowess. It would be advantageous if they provided options that encourage a more sustainable diet.

Amazon Spring Event: Enjoy 30% Discount on the Typhur Dome 2 Air Fryer

Amazon Spring Event: Enjoy 30% Discount on the Typhur Dome 2 Air Fryer

I was originally doubtful about air fryers, partly because of questions regarding their versatility. How many wings, nuggets, and fries does one genuinely require? The Typhur Dome 2 resolved this issue by including pizza, browned meats, grilled asparagus, and toasted bread—not to mention perfectly crispy bacon. This cutting-edge appliance provides most functions of a traditional oven with enhanced convection power. After evaluating over 30 air fryers in the last year, the Dome 2 emerges as the most powerful, versatile, precise, and swift model I’ve encountered. However, the cost is a considerable drawback; it’s priced at $500, but seldom falls below $400.

During Amazon’s Spring Sale, the Dome 2 is reduced to $340—the lowest since Black Friday. If you’re thinking about an upgrade, now is an excellent opportunity. The sale continues until March 31.

The rapid, versatile, app-managed cooking of the Dome 2 makes it my top choice. Typhur, an innovative company based in San Francisco with connections to China, reengineered the fryer with a wider, shallower basket and dual heating elements. This configuration allows for cooking a frozen pizza with direct bottom heat, imparting charring and crispiness akin to a grill-oven combination. The shallow basket facilitates even distribution for optimal airflow, and it crisps two dozen wings in merely 14 minutes. It toasts bread uniformly and crisps bacon without any odors, thanks to its self-cleaning capability. Its temperature accuracy is within 5-10 degrees, alongside speed-adjustable fans. The intelligent app offers around 50 recipes synced with a button press, but certain functions like baking necessitate using the app. Although less space-efficient, it proves to be highly effective.

For larger meats, I suggest the Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro, which is one of my preferred convection toaster ovens. It doesn’t crisp wings and fries as effectively as basket fryers but excels at roasting substantial proteins. The Breville is currently discounted by 20 percent.

Eco Experiment: Assessment of Clear Drop Soft Plastic Compactor

Eco Experiment: Assessment of Clear Drop Soft Plastic Compactor

Soft plastics pose a significant challenge for sorting machines, interfere with processing lines, and harm the environment. They are typically excluded from curbside recycling initiatives. While there are facilities that recycle these types of plastics, achieving clean, contaminant-free waste is challenging, often leading to the majority of soft plastics ending up in landfills. The SPC, a “pre-recycling device” developed by Arbouzov, aims to facilitate this process by providing contained and traceable plastic that has a higher likelihood of being recycled.

I was curious about converting these blocks into products like patio furniture, which became evident when Arbouzov shared a video from a facility in Frankfort, Indiana, dedicated to processing these plastics. The blocks are shredded into small pieces, then pressed into decking, chairs, and more.

“The timeframe from sending a block to its arrival in recycling takes several weeks,” Arbouzov mentioned. At present, Frankfort is the sole processing site, but Arbouzov intends to move processing operations nearer to material generation to lessen logistics dependency, utilizing the postal system as a temporary solution.

Recycling, Rewired

My family of three generated a block every two weeks, exceeding the supply of mailers, leading to a buildup of blocks. I hoped the SPC would create consumer-ready products like spoons or 3D printing filament, but a 2023 Greenpeace report pointed out that recycling plastics could heighten their toxicity, as the heating process might release or create dangerous chemicals. I wondered if recycled plastic fits into a circular economy and sought Arbouzov’s insight.
